Resveratrol is the New Acai

For months now we've been hearing about the health and weight loss benefits of the seemingly "magical" acai berry. This antioxidant-rich fruit from the rainforests of Brazil promises a healthy, lean, fit, sexy body in a matter of weeks. Well, actually, the fruit doesn't promise that but many of the hundreds of companies who produce acai supplements sure do... even though the actual evidence for acai's supposed fat loss benefits is very, very slim (pun intended).

But now it seems that there's a new "king" in the miracle fat loss supplement field: resveratrol. The popularity of this powerful plant-derived nutrient has been slowly simmering for several years. But now it seems that the weight loss marketers have gotten tired of pushing acai, which is in reality a questionable -- at best -- fat loss product. They're now focusing their money-making attention on resveratrol, a natural compound that may have strong anti-aging benefits... not to mention health benefits related to its anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, blood-sugar-lowering, and cardiovascular-boosting properties. Sure, the acai berry contains small amounts of resveratrol, but not enough to get people excited. Any supplements you buy will most-likely contain an extract of the Japanese knotweed... but I doubt you'll find that ugly-named plant anywhere in those pretty resveratrol weight loss ads!

So the resveratrol phytochemical definitely shows some promise in terms of boosting health. There's just one big problem: as in the case of acai products, there is still very little evidence that humans can actually obtain significant benefits from resveratrol supplements. And there is virtually no evidence that consuming large amounts of resveratrol will lead to faster weight loss!

Of course, as always, a certain percentage of people who see these new ads and fake weight loss blogs -- and who are desperate to lose weight quickly -- will spend their hard-earned money on these highly questionable products. Personally, I'm just going to drink some red wine, eat some delicious red grapes, drink my favorite frozen acai shake, and stick to the proven basics of fast, healthy fat loss.

If you do choose to give a resveratrol-based weight loss supplement a try, at least purchase one from a reputable company like this one.

Monica's Diet Blog: Another Acai Scam Blog

I've been seeing ads for "Monica's Diet Blog" all over the internet the past few days. It's a great-looking site with photos of a cute blonde girl named Monica who apparently lost lots of weight quickly using those miraculous acai and colon cleanse supplements.

What makes this blog interesting is that it promotes several different acai and colon cleanse products. Each time you click on the links you get sent to a different "free trial" offer for a different weight loss product. In the few minutes I examined the site I was sent to 3 different generic acai product sales pages and 4 different colon cleanse sales pages. It sure does seem strange that the lovely "Monica" can't figure out which of the products she used to lose that weight and must constantly send her visitors to different companies' product pages!

Obviously this is just another fake weight loss blog that's designed only to promote crappy products that promise easy fat loss for little money. I'm sure that all the different products being promoted come from the same company and offer the same results: little or no weight loss and lots of headaches trying to get them to stop "auto-charging" your credit card and sending you their worthless products.

It's really a shame that a product that's as useful as acai is starting to get a bad name for itself just because of the actions of a few marketers.

The bottom line: stay away from Monica's Diet Blog and any other fake weight loss "blog" that looks like it!

The Truth About Acai Berry / Colon Cleanse Diet Products

It seems like you can't go online these days without seeing about a thousand ads for acai berry diet products. Now we're seeing more and more advertisements for "weight loss success" blogs supposedly written by people who have lost lots of body fat very quickly and easily... simply by taking an acai berry supplement and a "colon cleanser" product.

Of course, these nice people just want to share their good fortune with the world by telling us exactly how we too can buy these fantastic "magical" fat loss products that require little or no dieting or exercise. The thing is... there's no doubt these blogs are all fake! They almost all look the same, promote the same products, and tell pretty much the same versions of the same story.

Anytime you see something like that you can be sure there's about a 99% chance it's a rip-off scam.

As I've said before, acai is a great source of healthy antioxidants. But it's not something that's going to help you lose a lot of weight all by itself. You can buy quality acai products for much less than what many of these acai diet pills cost and get many of the health benefits the fruit provides.

As for colon cleansing, it probably doesn't hurt and may even help you lose a couple of pounds easily. But those pounds won't be from fat loss. They'll be from "poop loss". Plus, you can do a natural colon cleanse/detox whenever you want by simply drinking lots of pure water and eating a raw diet for a day or two based around raw organic vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. No need to buy some expensive colon cleansing product when you can do it much cheaper and, probably, experience even more health benefits on your own.

The bottom line: these fake weight loss blogs promoting these highly questionable, over-priced products are created by marketers and scammers who just want to take your money. Don't give it to them!

By the way, you can see just how common these acai/colon cleanse product offers have become recently by taking a look at this Google search trends graph:

Wow, that's a lot!

The Truth about Acai Berries

Lately I've been seeing a lot of ads for diet supplements containing the acai berry. They promise fast, easy weight loss. As I said before, this is just pure BS. Antioxidants don't equal fast, healthy weight loss... no matter how powerful (or "exotic") they are! Yet, since I'm seeing sooo many ads for these products, it's obvious that the popularity of the acai fruit is about to explode.

If you have some extra money to spend it may be worthwhile to try out one or two of the most popular acai berry supplements... not as a weight loss aid but rather as an overall health and energy booster.

If you're just looking for natural sources of healthy antioxidants, many common fruits and vegetables are full of them!

Acai Berry and Weight Loss

I've been seeing ads for weight loss supplements based on the Acai berry. While I'm a huge fan of the ultra-healthy "superfood" from Brazil, the truth of the matter is that it's not an easy weight loss solution.

Consuming some dried-up Acai berry in pill form every day might give a you slight boost in energy and overall health, but it's almost definitely not going to make you lose body fat!

If you want to try acai, go ahead and look from some frozen acai berry or even acai fruit, which is becoming more and more commonly available in health food stores and even some "normal" grocery stores.

Once again, no pill sold over-the-counter is going to magically take the extra pounds off of your body. That requires real work... mainly dieting and regular exercise. Acai is a great addition to anyone's diet, but all these acai berry products aren't gonna give you an amazing body.

The bottom line: 99% of the acai berry products on the market are probably worthless. Pure marketing hype that will only steal your money and keep you fat, unhealthy, and unhappy!
