"Pyramid circuit" workouts are great for building functional strength, increasing muscle mass, and burning fat quickly. The same goes for bodyweight-based MMA and boxing workouts. Here's a great video that shows a workout that combines the two. It's a very effective MMA pyramid circuit workout based around pullups, hanging leg raises, wind sprints, and pushups:
Do that "circuit" at least 5 times and you have yourself a very effective, low-tech workout you can do just about anywhere!
